When I read the newspapers nowadays it is growing increasingly more difficult to accept the premise that man is actually evolving. With all the advances in technology and medicine you would think we were maturing mentally, but when you look at some of the attrocities taking place in the world today you really have to sit back and wonder if that really is the case. Is the perception that history repeats itself merely due to the fact that we, as a species, refuse to learn from our mistakes… and therefore repeat them over and over again… or is there more to it? Is there a method to this madness? I, ever the eternal optimist, sometimes have to wonder…
In this post I would like to take a break from our regularly scheduled programming to send out a plea to all Reiki practitioners and energy workers, no matter what your lineage, no matter what your training, no matter what your beliefs… to take a moment out of your hectic schedules to send some Reiki prayers, thoughts, energies, healing… whatever you do and whatever you have to spare… to all the people involved in the current conflict in Tibet. Send it in abundance… to both sides of the equation… that the conflict might end without further incident… and the memory deeply planted… that it was instrumental and necessary for the creation of world peace… implanted in the recollections of all who would remember.
And to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and those poor souls choosing for this incarnation to be a part of the pain they are now experiencing… I offer the words of Abraham Lincoln:
I pray that our Heavenly Father may assuage the anguish of your bereavement, and leave you only the cherished memory of the loved and lost, and the solemn pride that must be yours to have laid so costly a sacrifice upon the altar of freedom.
Isn’t it miraculous to know that we, as Reiki practitioners, have something of such value to offer those who are suffering… and can selflessly contribute to the health of the planet in such a meaningful way…

i know what you mean. i live in a country that spends billions and billions of dollars on weapons development to fight “enemies” that we trained and armed and turned against us
while many people live in poverty, new orleans is still in ruins, schools struggle to educate our children, many people are without means to healthcare…the list goes on
and multi-billion dollar corporations donate a few million per year to charity while their ceo’s go home to mansions, having more money than they could ever spend in a lifetime, hording it all away and then complaining when the government taxes them a bit more
and to make matters more confusing, there are already enough nuclear weapons in existence to destroy all life on this planet
i don’t know how it is in other countries, this is where i’ve spent my whole life, but someone somewhere has to have some sense
i say drop food, not bombs
and there will be no enemies
so it goes
it can be depressing, but we’ve got to march on, hoping and praying that we wake up
