Reiki Ladder

Okay, so you’ve managed to survive your Reiki One training and are considering stepping up to Level Two. Bear in mind that many Reiki Practitioners in Japan have historically taken several years to advance to Level Two, while, on the flip side of the coin, many Reiki Practitioners in the West have gone straight to Reiki Master in the first sitting (kind of like skipping the meal and going straight for the dessert if you ask me… but c’est la vie). So… how do you know when you’re ready? Here’s my Top 10 list of questions to ask yourself if you are pondering this question. Again, these are not commandments? just suggestions? they are not in any particular order and may change at a moments notice as more important considerations come to mind? :-)

  1. What is your reason for wanting to advance? – Whatever it is, do you feel it is a valid reason (and would your prospective teacher think so, or is ti just advancement for the sake of advancement?
  2. What are your expectations from Level Two training? – What do you hope to get out of it? It is a realistic goal?
  3. Have you done the work for Level One? – Unless you’ve put in the proper practice… you’re probably not ready.
  4. Can you easily sense the energy? – Can you sense it in your hands when you are doing Reiki? Can you sense it in others when you give them Reiki? Have you grown accustomed to the Reiki energy?
  5. Are you ready for the added commitment? – Reiki Two requires a fair amount of study and practice on a whole other level… are you sure you’re ready?
  6. Have you taught anyone what you know about Reiki? – A wise man once said to teach is to learn… have you taught what you’ve learned?
  7. Have you combined your Reiki with any other healing modalities? – Have you combined your Level One Reiki it with Aromatherapy, Massage or any of the other healing modalities out there?
  8. Are you in a hurry? – Haste makes waste!
  9. What is stopping you? – What has been preventing you in the past from continuing? Are those excuses no longer valid?
  10. Do you feel you’ve gotten everything you can out of Level One? – Have you finished your vegetables before reaching for the pie?

Reiki One has a tremendous amount to offer, and as posed in Question 10, unless you’ve gotten everything you can out of it there is really no reason to move on, unless, of course, there is. ๐Ÿ™‚

Lorem Ipsum has been the industrys standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown prmontserrat took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.
