No, I’m not talking about putting Diane Stein’s particular brand of Reiki in a blender, in this case the essential Reiki blends are special blends of essential oils that I use for different aspects of Reiki. Please refer to my post on Reiki & Aromatherapy for more general suggestions for combining these two phenomenal modalities.
First off is my Reiki Training Blend, this is the one I most frequency use during Reiki training sessions to enhance various aspects.
- Lavender – for relaxation (both mental and physical)
- Rosemary – as an aid in memory (both input and output based)
- Bergamot – for creating a sense of happiness & pleasure
- Peppermint – for improved concentration and focus
- Frankincense – for clearing confusion and promoting awareness
I use one or two drops of each of these in a fan diffuser which runs throughout the training sessions.
Next up is my Reiki Attunement Blend, which changes from time to time, but this is the one I am currently using.
- Narcissus – allows contact with the spiritual realms while keeping us safely grounded
- Palmarosa – extends our physical auras into the angelic realms
- Osmanthus – accepts new things into your life, assists in personal development
- Angelica – reveals hidden truths and persuades the spirit to venture out
I use four drops of palmarosa with one drop of each of the others blended into two tablespoons of sweet almond oil and rub a little on my wrists before attunements.
My Reiki Meditation Blend is a bit different, because, of late, I’ve been blending incense sticks (currently Nag Champa, patchouli and pure sandalwood) rather than essential oils. I can (and probably will at some point) write an entire post on using aromatherapy with Reiki meditations as there are so many different things to consider. When I use essential oils for meditation, I generally prefer to use only one oil at a time, but I found a blend of the following oils, which I used for awhile with interesting results:
Bergamot, Patchouli, Nutmeg, Orange, Ylang Ylang, Cedarwood, Lavender, Benzoin, Balsam (Tolu), Frankincense, Bay and Oakmoss.
I blended one drop of each of these oils and during various points in the meditation it seemed that one would be making itself known above the others, and that one would take me to its headquarters for processing. ![]()
Next up are a few samples of some of the Reiki Healing Blends I use in Reiki sessions.
Reiki Insomnia Blend
- Marjoram – 9 drops
- Vetiver – 8 drops
- Lemon – 14 drops
These three oils are blended in two tablespoons of sweet almond oil and I generally give a quick temple massage with these oils briefly before the session begins. This gets the oils into their systemย and since my Reiki treatments are non-contact it doesn’t matter if I have oil on my hands when I actually give Reiki. For more sever cases I give them a small quantity of the blend to take home and use at bedtime.
Reiki Depression Blend
- Geranium – 15 drops
- Neroli – 8 drops
- Nutmeg – 12 drops
This is basically used the same way as the Reiki Insomnia Blend (above) except that I find insomnia to be more the result of mental blocks while depression is more the result of emotional blocks. Mental and emotional healing in Reiki depend strongly on the harmony (second) Reiki symbol and during treatment the symbol is used quite liberally.
Reiki Blend for Back Pain
- Rosemary – 10 drops
- Marjoram – 10 drops
- Sage – 10 drops
This is an example of a Reiki blend for a physical ailment (although I generally find back pain to also have a strong emotional component) and as such requires the power (first) Reiki symbol to break through blocks to healing.
One important not about my Reiki Blends… all of them have received Reiki themselves (if not Reiki Master attunements) so the essential oils themselves have been activated with Reiki beforehand which opens up healing properties which are not there otherwise. Essential oils and blends respond very nicely to Reiki treatments and I’ve found that (as with crystals and gemstones) they also hold the energies for quite a long time. If you have reached the level of Reiki where you can distinguish differences in various forms of Reiki energy with your hands (or even in their unique yet subtle auras in the case of the Reiki blends) you can enjoy playing with these energies on a whole other level… but that’s a subject for another day.
