As promised, here is my report on Hiroshi Doi’s Christmas/New Year’s/End of the Year Reiki Koryukai. It was, of course, a great success and I had a most enjoyable time.

The most interesting part of the day was a viewing of a DVD of Dr. Chiaki Kudoh, a Japanese Neurosurgeon, detailing on-going clinical research in is called the Clover Project. In this session, a woman was strapped into an EEG Helmet and her brainwaves were recorded. After setting a baseline, Hiroshi Doi Sensei proceeded to give her a Reiki treatment while the computers analyzed what was going on. There were noticeable color changes as the relaxation brought her into an Alpha State and while Dr. Kudoh seemed satisfied with the results (as did the Koryukai participants) I am not so sure that it was a meaningful analysis at all. Of course it was all in Japanese and I didn’t understand a lot of the technical explanations, and even though I remain unconvinced, it was quite an interesting study.

The Year End raffle was also a smash, with prizes ranging from Tibetan tingshas and incense to Reiki books and CDs as well as tickets to next year’s Valentines Day Reiki Party (details of which will be coming soon).The rest of the Koryukai consisted of the usual Solar Imaging Training, Jiko Joka Healing and Hatsurei Ho. Gone was the usual Reiju, in its place the Reiki Masters beamed Reiju to the other participants. It was nice, but I definitely prefer the Reiju.

All in all it was a wonderful Reiki filled event leaving me thirsty for more… which of course will have to wait till next year.
