Another Reiki challenge has come and gone and quite a few posts that have been waiting can now take advantage of the vacuum left in its wake. First, I’d like to turn to some preventive medicine for the holiday season, and then I’ll get back to the old routine of writing about those things I find most fascinating at that given time… resuming my quest to both entertain and enlighten my faithful readers. ![]()
Yet another holiday season is upon us, it appears they come around every year or so, although the pre-holiday season seems to be getting progressively longer and longer. If the current trend continues we’ll soon be starting our Christmas shopping right around New Years. ![]()
With the holidays fast approaching I’d like to take a look at how Reiki might be combined with the old adage about an ounce of prevention to make this holiday season just a bit less stressful and a bit more enjoyable. If you think about all the things that cause problems at this time of the year, from overbooked airplanes, congested roads, sold out toy stores, to the pleasure of the in-laws… oh and don’t forget the lines, lines and more lines, blood pressures will be rising all over the planet and, of course, we need to take care of ourselves first, so we’ll be in peak condition to help others. So make sure you are giving yourself regular Reiki treatments until the holidays are well behind you.
Also, if you take some time ahead of the holidays to send Reiki to yourself in the future, to those times you know you’ll most need it, it will be there waiting for you when you get there. When you do get there, see if you can’t sense the Reiki in the air waiting… I’m sure you can, it is quite a nice feeling!
This is also a great time to schedule free sample Reiki treatments, as giving equals getting as far as Reiki is concerned, and the Reiki we will be getting while giving it to others certainly goes a long way. Also be sure to check out my post on Reiki for Ultimate Relaxation for a few other tips and pointers.
Waiting in lines is actually one of my favorite times to give Reiki since there’s not much else to do, and since you’re not going anyplace you might as well make the most of it. Besides, what are you waiting for anyway? You’re just going to find another line waiting for you when you get there.
Taking a quick glance at the people around you should quite easily spot someone in need. Especially the poor register worker… I know it seems like they’re the ones holding things up, but chances are they are doing their very best. Unlike restaurant workers, they don’t demand a tip, so a Reiki tip is often just the ticket.
Christmas and New Years Day’s are wonderful times to give Reiki treatments to family and friends that you may not otherwise have a chance. Reiki treatments make great gifts, are wonderful stocking-stuffers, and fit quite nicely under any sized tree. Oh, and don’t forget Santa… I know for a fact he’d rather have some Reiki waiting for him rather than Cookies and Milk… he told me so himself… and he’s been tipping the scales at around 300 lbs., so he can certainly do without the extra calories. ![]()
It’s too early to wish you a Merry Christmas… that’ll wait for Christmas Day, but I can wish you a Merry Pre-Holiday Season… one without the unneeded stress and aggravation that Reiki can go a long way towards eliminating.
