Reiki means different things to different people and thus a “one size fits all” mentality just doesn’t apply. Due to Reiki’s quantum, organic and evolving nature, each Reiki practitioner must adapt their Reiki practice to his or her own specific needs. This is not as difficult as it sounds, and to that end I have put together this little Reiki Blueprint for Success and by following the simple steps. a Reiki Practitioner can comfortably and effectively fit Reiki into their daily life in a most effective manner.
- Step 1 – To start off with there are a couple of questions you need to ask yourself… you need to determine your goals and your ambitions as far as Reiki is concerned that you might have something to work towards. So to get going, write down what you’d ultimately like to accomplish with your Reiki practice… whether you are a Reiki teacher, operate a Reiki business, or are just a regular Reiki practitioner, write your goals down on an index card and put that card someplace where you can see it often. Give it Reiki to empower it as well.
- Step 2 – Reiki generally has three aspects to it, healing, energy and spirituality. To be successful in Reiki there needs to be aspects of each involved in your Reiki practice. IF there is no healing component on a regular basis, add one (distance or hands on will do). If there is no spirituality component, learn to meditate. If there is no energetic component, start playing with the subtle Reiki energies. Make sure you have all of these incorporated into your Reiki practice for the best results.
- Step 3 – Learn as much as you can about Reiki. Make it a point to read a new book, a new web page or a new Reiki article at least once a month. Keep new Reiki ideas flowing. Reading these pages every day (or any other Reiki blogs you feel have value) also qualifies. You need to keep Reiki fresh and the best way to do so is to keep discovering new things and refreshing old ones.
- Step 4 – Talk to others about Reiki. Join an active Reiki forum (use the comment form below to ask about good forums or recommend good ones to others). Talking to like minded people puts Reiki in a very positive position and will help motivate you to carry out the above steps. There are hundreds of forums… find an active one that suits you.
- Step 5 – Become a Reiki teacher if you are not teaching already. This should be one of your goals and should not be fulfilled until you are sure you are ready… there’s no guidelines for being a good teacher, you’ll just know when you’re ready. As they say, when the student is ready, the teacher will come. If you are destined to be that teacher, you won’t be able to change fate.
- Step 6 – Learn a new Reiki style at least once a year. This will help you to cement the original Reiki you’ve learned as well as to fortify it with new ideas as well as fill in some of the holes presented by the old ones. Even if you don’t agree with the new style you are learning, listen closely and then discard it if you like.
- Step 7 – Give yourself Reiki each and every day even if you don’t have a specific need for it. The old saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure has a lot of truth in it.
Make sure each of these components are part of your regular Reiki practice and don’t be afraid to experiment. Have fun with Reiki and always approach it with an open mind so that you will notice new things as they happen. If your mind is closed you will not be blocking them happening… you will just be blocking yourself from noticing.
