The Reiki Way, or the philosophy one favors while being on the Reiki Path, doesn’t only mean following the Reiki Principles, although that is a big part of it, there is actually much more to it.
For some people, when they embark on the Reiki path it is a life changing experience. For more on the Reiki Path see the post called Follow the Reiki Brick Road. Everything seems somehow different, although the differences are quite minimal due to the subtlety of Reiki energy, they add up to be quite overwhelming in some cases. It seems like something has changed, but you just can’t quite put your finger on it. Sometimes it is merely the ability to notice things you never noticed before. The Reiki Way is a way to understand these changes and how they fit into your life.
For other Reiki practitioners, Reiki is merely a tool that one uses when it is needed, and it is kept in the closet when it is not being used. These practitioners are in all likelihood not on any Reiki path, but the longer they continue to do what they are doing, the closer they will get to reaching the vibrational frequency necessary for understanding the Reiki Way, and it is then that, perhaps most, Reiki Practitioners actually join the true Reiki ranks. ![]()
Generally, one’s place on the Reiki Path is somewhere in between these two extremes, and after the initial honeymoon phase is over you may make sudden or frequent changes throughout your Reiki lifetime, so to speak. Once the dust has settled, the Reiki Way becomes clear and one begins to make the choices necessary for incorporating Reiki into their daily life.
Of course, deciding exactly how Reiki is going to fit into ones life involves personal decisions, although most serious Reiki Practitioners, once they’ve been on the path for a given amount of time, start to share the same outlook on things. This is, in essence, the Reiki Way… (as opposed to the “other” or old way of thinking about things). Here are a few examples of what I’m on about:
- Before Reiki, one can only be an onlooker as disaster occurs around them, people get ill or disillusioned, or their own life situation takes a turn for the worse. After Reiki, one can actively assist disaster victims, people with problems or themselves in dealing with the cards they’ve been dealt, alleviating some of the stress involved and/or actually generate some real healing.
- Before Reiki, enlightenment was just a dream. After Reiki it becomes a reality that we are getting closer to with each passing day.
- Similarly, before Reiki, many of us have no idea about what our life’s purpose truly is. After Reiki we can gain some insight into our place in the grand scheme of things.
- Before Reiki, giving a helping hand had an entirely different meaning.
These are just a few examples, of which there are probably thousands, each of which the result of the Reiki Way and our personal approach to it, our our own Reiki Attitude.
Have you decided where Reiki best fits into your life and how to take the best advantage of this tremendous gift the universe has bestowed upon you? Or is it still in the closet collecting dust next to your old roller skates? ![]()
