This post is directed towards the current state of the (world) economy and how Reiki might be able to offer assistance at such a time.

Let’s face it, the economy isn’t looking all too healthy, and with the election of a new commander in chief in the US, it looks like there will be a lot of hard work ahead in order to right the boat…. so to speak. If the current state of affairs can learn anything from similar events in history, we might brace ourselves for some tough times. So exactly where does Reiki fit into this picture, and what can we, as Reiki practitioners, do to help?

A psychic friend of mine recently confided that she saw an increase in the suicide rate over the coming months due to the current financial situation. People’s inability to make ends meet, to pay the rent/mortgage, to sufficiently provide for their families, heck, to even put a decent meal in their kids stomachs, is reaching epidemic proportions and while she sincerely hopes she is getting the wrong vibes this time around, her pinpoint accuracy in the past has (unfortunately, in this case) rarely failed her. With this bit of forewarning, does Reiki have something to offer? Can we, as Reiki practitioners do something about it? I believe it does and I believe we can.

The first step lies in observation. Keep a close eye on anyone around you that might be effected by this situation. It doesn’t take a trained psychologist/psychiatrist to notice grief, anxiety, despondency or a general state of angst. Pierce through the veils that these people are wearing and look within. Notice what you see. See them through your inner eyes and hear them through your inner ears. Notice the cries for help and the feelings of despair and helplessness. These people seriously need Reiki and in all reality, in many cases it may indeed be their only hope.

Regular Reiki treatments are valuable for people suspect of these tendencies, not only for the benefits Reiki itself has to offer, but simply for the effectiveness of having someone to talk to… someone who actually listens. That can be as effective as the Reiki itself and the combination of the two, in this situation creates quite the powerful team.

On a more positive note (although not obviously so) the greatest door to enlightenment, that is, the portal that has allowed more people to reach an enlightened, self-realized state than all the other routes combined, is suffering. Through suffering, barriers to self-actualization are dramatically removed, and while it isn’t exactly the most enjoyable experience, the result is. People passing this test, will be stronger spiritually, and again, while this may not be the most enjoyable time in one’s life, the amount of people reaching this state of enlightenment, and then helping others to do so, is actually one of the reasons why we are in a more enlightened age right now, and people are seeing the light, so to speak, at phenomenal rates, never before witnessed. So the old adage that for every plus there’s a minus, once again rings true.

I guess the bottom line, during such times, is PAY ATTENTION. Notice what people are communicating and let them know you are there to help. Now more than ever, the assistance of Reiki practitioners around the globe is needed. I don’t know if my psychic friend’s prediction is accurate, I really hope it isn’t, but don’t say you weren’t warned. And send some distance Reiki to good old Uncle Sam while you’re at it, look at that picture… he could really use it!!!
