I guess this post is more about treating the effects of the economy and hopefully prevent a few people from jumping out of windows, rather than treating the economy itself, which IMHO is working just fine… allow me to explain.

First, my 30 Second Course on Economics. I’ve always subscribed to the theory of Darwinian (or Evolutionary) Economics which supports the old survival of the fittest idea. Fit companies will thrive and survive while weak ones will go the way of the dinosaur. Adam Smith’s invisible hand will keep thinks in check so that the government needn’t (or shouldn’t). Big fat companies that are taking more than their share of the pie will be naturally eliminated and any attempt to interfere will only make things worse. So there you have it, the economy is fine… it is just going through the necessary re-balancing needed to eliminate the waste and ridiculousness (is that a word?) that was all too prevalent.

Of course as this re-balancing takes place a lot of good people are suffering. There are a lot of bankers and politicians suffering too… not the hard working ones but the one’s trying to take advantage of hard working people everywhere with the impression that it would not come back and bite them in the rear. Well it has, and they will get no sympathy from me, but the regular folk who were taken advantage of and hard working well meaning men and women everywhere are suffering and while Eckhart Tolle and other spiritualists might point out that suffering is the quickest path to spiritual enlightenment I think there is a line to be drawn between those that are ready for spiritual evolution and those that were just victims of certain greedy individuals out to make a quick buck. So I would offer Reiki to all those who are suffering (and in support of Mr. Tolle’s teachings, of which I’m quite a big fan, I would say that Reiki can be quite helpful in taking some of the pain out of the suffering… if that makes any sense).

Okay, we’ve covered our Economics Lesson and narrowed down a few million (or maybe even billion) people who are suffering as a result of the re-shifting of power (and money) that is occurring. So the question is… what can we, as Reiki Practitioners, do about it? Well, either by distance healing or in person, Reiki Sessions are perfect for relieving the emotional pain and suffering that is occurring. Much of the second level of Reiki has to do with emotional healing. Liberal application of the second Reiki symbol, the mental/emotional symbol, is just the ticket for balancing thoughts and emotions that have energetically gone out of whack.

Its been my experience that one of the biggest problems in dealing with this type of thing is denial. A lot of people not only deny to others that they are depressed or otherwise affected by economical troubles and this is especially true of the men who are the breadwinners of the family. Its probably just an ego thing, but the result is that they aren’t asking for help and o lot of time Reiki is all that is needed to give them the peace of mind to realize that everything will be okay in the end… it always is.

A rule of thumb for many Reiki Practitioners is that they don’t give Reiki unless it is asked for, and that is one that I generally follow myself, but in cases like this, where people may be too proud to ask for help, I make an exception and I send it to their higher conscious mind to allow through should it deem appropriate. Higher conscious minds are generally less proud or egotistical than the lower conscious ones that rule the planet. No, I’m not touching that one.

Its also been my experience that a lot of this depression hits hardest at night, probably during dreams, in which visions of the worst possible scenarios replay themselves again and again causing tremendous stress. That is where I aim my Reiki for those individuals. Whether I am sending Reiki to someone in particular, to whomever Reiki deems the neediest, or just to everyone suffering in general, I set my intent to approach them during their dreams, and give them as much Reiki as is necessary to give them a good nights sleep and allowing them to wake up refreshed and aware of the wonderful options available and overall magnificence of being.

Oh… and if someone asks for help, even the bankers… give it to them too for as far as Reiki goes, to give is to get.
