In a recent discussion on a popular medical board it was stated that “all disease is due to mis-communication of messages between and within cells.” This really got me to thinking, and if doctors are discussing such things (as they apparently are, since this was a forum for doctors), then perhaps there really is some hope for a union between medical science and Reiki (not that Reiki has ever had a problem with it, mind you).

If my presuppositions are correct, and all dis-ease is a result of energetic blocks creating imbalances in the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual energy fields, than this fits this theory like a glove. “mis-communication of messages between and within cells”, while obviously aimed at the physical mechanisms, can easily be applied to the other areas as well (although we might have to wait for medical professionals to admit that one).

Okay, so if “all disease is due to mis-communication of messages between and within cells.” this means that somewhere along the line, communication is being blocked or distorted. Reiki, in its most basic sense is designed to break through energy blocks and clear the channels so that energy can flow smoothly and unhindered.

I have long held that lack of decent communication skills is one of the biggest problems facing mankind today and if Reiki can offer some assistance to that end, that would surely make it a most valuable addition to any repertoire. As I find out more about this I will certainly keep you all posted…
