In my various walks along the Shamanic Path a great deal of attention was paid to the subject of dreams. Learning to control one’s dreams can be extremely beneficial for a Shaman… but how about for Reiki Practitioners? Do dreams enter into the picture at all when following a Reiki Path?

Dream Control, or Lucid Dreaming (oneirautics for you grammarians) is incredibly easy for some and seemingly impossible for others. I have been successful on several occasions, but not to the extent that I would have liked to be and not nearly as frequently as I would have liked. My first dozen or so times I was so excited about finally doing it that I woke myself up. 😳 If you do succeed you need to act like its no big deal or you’ll snap yourself right out of it.

On the one occasion I was able to actually use Reiki in a dream, what I witnessed was so astounding that my entire view of Reiki was changed forever. Part of the astoundedness (astoundicity? astoundidation?) was in due to the fact that no one guided me in this and no one told me what to expect. If I guide you or teach you how to do this, or tell you what to do or expect, that might irreversibly change your experience… and that might be a shame. It is for that reason that I am being specifically vague here.

If you’d like to experiment with this, the first step is to develop your lucid dreaming ability. For some people this can take a great deal of time and a great deal of effort.
