Reiki Teacher

As opposed to teaching Reiki, this post is directed towards teachers of other stuff <technical term> that are curious as to how to best use Reiki in (and out of) the classroom for greater student effectiveness and enjoyment.

While knowledge of the fundamentals of Reiki as found in Reiki Level One is generally enough for most people, I believe the added power of Reiki Level Two to be a tremendous asset for teachers of all shapes and sizes. In Reiki Level Two the applications of Reiki to disruptions of a mental and/or an emotional nature are addressed. And since the greatest problems in education are generally of an emotional and or mental nature the uses of Reiki for teachers abound. The added power of distance Reiki, as also revealed in Reiki Level Two, are also invaluable as teachers cannot be with their students 24/7… or can they?

In the Classroom

If you reflect upon your own educational experiences, where do you believe Reiki would have helped you out the most had you the ability to use it when you were a student? While taking a test? While studying for a test? When getting up in the morning on the day of the test? While giving a presentation? While preparing for a presentation? While struggling with difficult concepts? While trying to keep your mind off that cute boy (or girl) at the desk next to you? While presenting your report card to your parents? In the locker room? At sporting events? All of the above?

Since most of these situations involve both a mental and an emotional component, there is little doubt that Reiki would be extremely helpful in breaking through the mental or emotional blocks causing discomfort. Teachers with the ability to beam Reiki to individual students obvious during times of stress or to the entire class when they are all enjoying the stress en masse would not only have happier students, but more productive ones to boot. While walking around during test time, that brief Reiki filled touch on the shoulder, pat on the back or ruffling of the hair (depending on the age group) would work wonders for those Reiki practitioners who haven’t taken the dive into Reiki Level Two yet and Reiki Level Two practitioners could just sit at their desk and achieve the same results.

Outside of the Classroom

The application of Reiki outside of the classroom basically falls under the domain of Distance Reiki. Sending Reiki to individual students in need or the entire class (or the entire school for that fact) would yield results just as powerful (if not more so) than the sending of Reiki during class. And during Distance Reiki it is much easier to use crystals, pendulums and many other assorted practices that are increasingly being used in the various styles of Reiki popping up every day.

As teachers, we owe it to our students to do as much as we can to help them to learn. If they can enjoy themselves in the process, that is a welcomed bonus. Reiki offers us the occasion to do just that… and in today’s competitive society every little bit surely helps.
