Welcome to the 2008 Reiki Alphabet Challenge!!! Its great to have you here!!! This challenge is designed to give you something new to Reiki every day by giving you a new letter to focus on each day. Hopefully, by the end of the challenge you will have Reikied things you hadn’t considered before and thereby increased the boundaries of your Reiki world. So let’s get started…

Today’s letter is “S” and our focus is on Self-Reiki. The importance of giving yourself regular Reiki treatments cannot be overemphasized. After all, if the doctor is sick it doesn’t speak very well of his healing abilities and/or knowledge of her chosen profession. It also greatly reduces his or her ability to treat the wounded… the the old adage an apple a day keeps the doctor way holds true for doctors as well as patients and just as teachers make the worst students (or so I’m repeatedly told) doctors also tend to make the worst patients.

So today’s challenge is dedicated to our faithful readers and asks that you all spend a few moments treating the proverbial goose that lays the golden eggs, rather than just exploiting the eggs when needed (I’m sure there’s an appropriate metaphor hidden in there somewhere if you look deeply enough).

For today’s challenge, however, it should come as no surprise that there is a bit of a twist involved. Rather than just giving yourself a Reiki treatment, the challenge is to give yourself 3 Reiki treatments… I refer to this as a Reiki Hat-Trick. The intent of the first is to send Reiki to your past self (pick a date, event, or era at any time in your past), the second is to give Reiki to your present self, and the third is… you guessed it… your future self (again, you can choose a specific upcoming event, or just a general age).

And before anyone asks… YES!!! This idea was indeed inspired by that unforgettable dream (or was it) of old Ebenezer Scrooge. So in the spirit of the season… Happy Reiki to Us, Every One!
