This is an extremely simple Reiki technique that I find quite interesting. I call it Random Reiki, and although it is simple, it works at a much deeper level than is immediately noticeable.

Randomly open a phone book to any page and then randomly point to any entry on that page. Now send Reiki to that person (or business if you find yourself in the yellow pages). Easy enough? You bet!

If you make this a part of your daily Reiki routine there are several benefits. Besides the obvious giving is getting Reiki rule, there is another force at play here. No, its not the old practice makes perfect rule either. It karma… when you give something, without the expectation of getting something back in return, you build up good karma for yourself. In Reiki, an energy exchange is always required for giving Reiki healing and/or training.

In my post on Reiki & Karma, I covered the basics as far as karma is concerned, so, in line with that thinking this exercise is a way to pay back karma to the universe. In the recent film The Opus, (the new inspirational film along the lines of The Secret) Jack Canfield points out that since the big bang, the primary concern of the universe has been expansion, and anything that supports the universe in this endeavor also gets support from the universe. Not a bad ally to have on your team if you ask me.

So how does Random Reiki support the expansion of the universe? As the universe expands (especially here on Earth) it experiences it’s fair share of dis-ease. This dis-ease (in any of the many forms it manifest as) constricts growth. Physical, mental, emotional and spiritual problems are the result energy blocks in their respective energetic systems. Healing those blocks allows for the unhindered expansion to smoothly continue.

It is said that nature reflects the moods of man. As mankind heats up, so does the Earth (in the form of global warming), as mans relationships grow more turbulent, so too does nature (in the form of typhoons, hurricanes and tornadoes). As man keeps more and more anger pent up that anger eventually explodes, and again, so too does nature (in the form of volcanoes). There is a lot of expansion left to be done and Reiki supports that expansion through healing. Assisting the universe in its mission will allow the universe to help you in yours… the universe understands the laws of Karma and it will always reciprocate.
