In traditional Japanese Reiki there is a practice called Reiju that is perhaps my favorite Reiki technique of all time. It is kind of a cross between a Reiki attunement and a blast of Reiki healing and for those that haven’t experienced it, I would put it at the top of my Reiki wish list.
What is Reiju?
Besides being my son’s nickname (his name is Ray and I usually call him Reiju… the ultimate Reiki baby) Reiju can best be described as a Reiki tune-up. It is like a mini attunement that does not attune to any specific Reiki level, but to the Reiki energies in general. Hiroshi Doi and Hyakuten Inamoto include Reiju as a regular part of their regular Reiki shares and truth be told, it is my favorite part of the Reiki share. Generally it comes at the end… so its kind of a reward for all the healing energies given. ๐
How do you do Reiju?
The practice of Reiju is similar to the Reiki attunement, but at a much simplilfied level. Different Reiki masters use different approaches, but the results are the same… a blast of Reiki to the system that leaves one feeling just a bit closer to Reiki. Just as with the attunements, Reiju can be done live or over a distance. My personal belief is that virtually all Reiki distance attunements are not attunements at all… just Reiju… unless one performs them with great care and with great attention to the proper procedure.
*** I will be announcing a contest soon that involves the practice of Reiju, so if you are not subscribed to the RSS feed for this blog, or do not check back on a regular basis I encourage you to do so, as this contest is not something you want to miss.
